Dear
Friends of Exploration Station,
The building in "community building" starts with each
of us. Especially building a community with the youngest in mind.
Exploration Station is a place where the youngest in mind is at
the heart of all programming. The Hands On Learning Center was built in 2000 with
Smart Start funds, a BB&T contribution and other private sector donations.
Exploration Station exists to enrich the lives of children, youth,
families, teachers and childcare providers by creating unique and
extraordinary experiences that help create a love of learning. Over the years, the center earned recognition as a national member
of the American Children's Museum Association. At the heart of the
center children's programming includes weekly storytimes, monthly art classes, Kids Kamps, and exhibits that encourage learning through creative and imaginative play.
From Exploration Station's grand opening on September 27th, 2000,
programming and use at the Station continues to grow. Ever present
economic obstacles have not reduced the quality of the center. The
quality and growth is due to the community's support and belief
that the center is a place where education with imagination empowers
the mind and makes learning fun.
It
is our hope that you will join the Exploration Station family or
renew your commitment and support our fundraising campaign to celebrate our 10th Birthday in 2010. This year a member has CHALLENGED all friends of Exploration Station to consider giving at least $10 to honor our 10th Birthday!
Proceeds from this campaign will enable Exploration Station
to refurbish old exhibit areas, improve and invest in programming areas including science, art & music, and complete outside signage of the building and
match operational Smart Start funds and keep the quality of programming
and high impact learning environment available to the public. Thank
you in advance for your contribution. All supportive efforts are appreciated
as we make plans to continue positive growth of programming at the
center.
For more information about how you can support Exploration Station with the giving of your Time, Talents, and Treasures, please contact me SOON!!!
Sincere
thanks,
Stacie C. Kinlaw, Executive Director
